Muay Thai Fight Training

If you have a Muay Thai fight lined up, then 6-8 weeks before you need to step your training up a gear to ensure you are fit enough to cope with the rigours of the fight ahead. The last thing you should need to worry about in a fight is being unfit and is one thing that you have control over. Ideally a professional fighter can train twice a day with experienced coaches guiding them every step of the way. However, if you live in the Western world and don’t have access to your own experienced trainer to guide you, then the following plans serve as a guide line to increase your fitness prior to a fight. It may be wise if you have to work a full time job that you only train at these intensities 3-4 times a week and allow your body sufficient time to rest. If your performance starts decreasing then it is a sign of over training signalling a need for rest. Active rest days are recommended twice a week where you should use the time to go swimming, for a light job or do a yoga class.
